S.C.O.P.E. (Sheriff Community Oriented Policing Effort) is a philosophy and community perspective rather than a specific program or new law enforcement tactic.

S.C.O.P.E. members are dedicated to the principle of Community Oriented Policing which partners law enforcement with the citizens and businesses we serve. We proactively address issues which detract from the safety and quality of life for citizens of Spokane County.

• To provide a safe living environment for the community.
• To increase citizen's awareness of, and involvement in, community-oriented services in partnership with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.
• To foster community spirit.

• Teamwork is the answer; Law enforcement and citizens working together toward a common goal.
• That citizens and law enforcement share responsibility in promoting public safety and preventing crime.
• That organized neighborhood groups and law enforcement must unite. The Spokane County Sheriff's Office intends to work in partnership with organized neighborhood groups to establish outreach stations in those communities.
• The success of a community's outreach station rests on the depth of that community's commitment to making the station work.
